DJ's: Bob Lawrence

HI I'm Bob 'Buzby' Lawrence. Some of you remember me under the name Richard Thompson of 'the grand old lady': Radio Caroline' ship the MV Mi Amigo from the late 70s.

My broadcast-career began on hospital radio and various London land-based pirates before joining Radio Caroline in August 1978 where, on my first day, I was given the nickname 'Buzby' by Dutch DJ Marc Jacobs.

I was a DJ on both the English All Album format and occasional relief on the top 40 Dutch/Flemish service. I stayed until the mv Mi Amigo sank in March 1980.

Since then I have worked at a large number of stations (still do). I also do 'voice-overs', work as a producer and much more. If you want to know more about me, check out my homepage: http://www.boblawrence.co.uk

I am proud to be back with 'real free radio' on the good ship Mi Amigo, amid many ex-colleagues from 'the Golden Era or Offshore AM Radio'.
